New York City is a myriad of cuisines for those looking to expand their cultural experience and palate. The concrete jungle has more than its fair share of restaurants to please anyone’s craving. Being that this city is such a melting pot of cultures and nationalities, one could pretty much find any food that they are in the mood for. Whether it is new and trendy spot, or just a simple classic, New York City has it all. One of my favorite topics to talk about is the classic dining experience, especially when it comes to steakhouses.

When deciding which restaurant to go, there are a few key criteria that come into mind. Among them are the delectable mouth-watering entrees, efficiency and effectiveness within the staff and service, and cult-like following of regulars and customers. While New York City provides the best and the finest dining experience, there is not place like the historic Peter Luger Steak House.

Peter Luger Steak House is a steakhouse located in Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Having been named the best steakhouse by the Zagat Survey for thirty years in a row, it is hard to think of any other place better than this American treasure. Established in 1887, this iconic Brooklyn staple always delivers in providing the highest quality for their customers. From the time that I entered Peter Luger I felt relaxed. From the wooden 19th century wooden decor to the waiting staff, the overall atmosphere at this restaurant was friendly, professional, and inviting

As for the food, the price is understandably high. But that is the quality of service and food you are expecting, considering its overall reputation. One thing to keep in mind is that at Peter Luger, they are very old school, as in they do not accept any major credit cards. So if you are looking to go there, make sure you take out cash. Now as for the meal, the steaks there are absolutely phenomenal. The menu itself is pretty simple– steak, steak, and more steak, along with sides. Broiled to perfection and served on a sizzling plate, every bite of your steak will put you in a state of ecstasy. If you know what is good for you, you will also order a couple of the appetizers. A couple of my favorite was the creamed spinach, sliced tomatoes, and German fried potatoes.

Overall, the meal and atmosphere made for an incredible night. If you are looking for a place to enjoy with your family and friends or you just really enjoy a steak meal, I urge you to check this place out. I am already looking forward to returning for my next steak-dining experience.
